Henry Nettleton (he+) is a New York City-based theatre director and writer.
Currently, he is directing and developing Jo Jenkins Before the Galactic High Court of Consciousness, a new musical by Jack Coen (Finalist - Kleban Prize 2024).
In addition to his own work, he has assisted at the Juilliard School, 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Keen Company, and the Village Theatre (Issaquah, WA), for directors such as Zi Alikhan, Bill Berry, and Christopher Ashley. Previously, he served as Artistic/Literary Intern at LCT3/ Lincoln Center Theatre, Producing Intern for Jeffrey Seller, and performed coverage of new plays and musicals for organizations such as Second Stage, The Playwrights Realm, and Page 73. He previously served as Co-Artistic Director of Really Really Theatre Group, amplifying artistic voices in New York City and Seattle, and was a member artist of New Phase Collective.
He is currently developing After Pinocchio for producer Emma Wang (Book by James Hindman, Music by Luke Holloway). Additionally, he is writing the lyrics for Troupe, Book by Zinzer Jay and Music by Luke Holloway. The show follows a troupe of WW1 veterans as they develop a drag cabaret in Brooklyn circa 1921; speaking against the war, protesting their conscription, and exploring their identities behind closed curtains. He is a proud member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.
Finally, he would be nowhere without his friends and mentors, especially Danielle Cohn, Trevor Griffin, Joel Fram, and Zi Alikhan.
